Download Kaspersky Rescue Disk Free for Windows PC
Kaspersky Rescue Disk is a free tool for cleaning computers of malware that does not allow the operating system to start. You must boot from a Kaspersky Rescue Disk to scan and remove threats from an infected computer without the risk of infecting files or other computers.
The way it works is to burn this ISO image to a CD, insert it into the CD-ROM drive of the infected system, enter the BIOS of the computer, set it to boot from the CD, and the computer must be restarted. This lists the options for Gentoo, along with some of the options that are built into the kernel, but this has proven to be very useful for users.
All options beginning with ‘Does’ have the inverse of ‘No’, and this does the opposite. For example, ‘doscsi’ enables SCSI support on the initial ramdisk boot, while ‘noscsi’ disables it. This way, you can easily remove malicious files from your computer without the risk of infection. You can download Kaspersky Rescue Disk for free with a direct link from the official website that you can find at the end of the explanation!
✔ To install Kaspersky Rescue Disk, first, download the ISO image file from the link at the end of the explanation. The file will be downloaded as a krd.iso file.
✔ At this point, you can choose to create a bootable disk or a bootable USB device. One will work, but the latter is a bit more complicated.
✔ To put a Kaspersky Rescue Disk on a disc, see How to Burn an ISO Image File to a DVD, CD, or BD. If you want to use a USB device instead, see the ISO to USB guide here, as well as Kaspersky’s explanation of the specific settings you need to use.
✔ Once installed, you will need to boot into it before loading the operating system. If you need help doing this, see How to boot from a CD/DVD/BD or How to boot from a USB device.
Notes that may help you
✔ When you first boot into the Kaspersky Rescue Disk, press Enter to open the English version.
✔ On the next screen, you can choose whether you want the graphic version or the text version. That’s up to you but Kaspersky Rescue Disk. Graphics mode is much easier to use as you can point and click on menus as you would in a regular desktop application. So, press Enter when you see this option.
✔ You can erase part of the hard drive instead of the whole thing. This is very useful if you already know what you want to scan, so you don’t have to waste time scanning your entire drive for malicious files.
✔ From the Change Parameters link, you can set the scope of the scanner so that only certain folders are scanned, only boot sectors are scanned for viruses, etc.
✔ There is a regular desktop inside the Kaspersky Rescue Disk that allows you to edit the registry, browse the Internet and even explore the operating system as if you were logged into a user account, which is very useful if malware prevents you from booting into the system.
✔ The only thing not like about Kaspersky Rescue Disk is that it may take some time to download because the ISO image is rather large.
✔ Only supported for Microsoft Windows operating systems.
